Maxicare Review

POSTED: MARCH 18, 2009 7:57AM I (accidentally/unintentionally) got my son a Maxicare outpatient health card last November for 2009 coverage. On January, he was schedule for a checkup. Sadly, his card wasn't delivered yet so I asked our Compensation and Benefits personnel as to how i can possibly reimburse my expenses. She me told to call Maxicare hotline. And so I did. But boy oh boy didn't I expect that I'll be on hold for 30 minutes. I almost got irritated by the voice recording telling me "All our agents are engaged at the moment. To hold please press 1.." The number 1 key in my phone must've been overused for that 30 minutes. Exasperated, I put down the phone and tried again after two hours. So I tried the next day, and the next.. same thing happened. Now, after 3 checkups, and about 20 unsuccessful calls, i still haven't any heard a REAL voice from Maxicare! It's so frustrating! I mean, they say they provide convenience and yet they let you wait hours and hours for nothing! Mind you, this will be the first and last time I'm getting that card for any of my family members.

Maxicare denied to shoulder my surgery although their coordinator and 5 other surgeion told them that my disease is not pre existing because i am in a wheelchair for almost 15 years. A person who had no exercise and always immobile maybe considered a stone former in the gallbladder. Because i need the surgery very badly we asked help from an assistance from other institution due to lack of funds. Due to the failure of maxicare to cover my surgery i was instructed by the institution who will help me to get a certification from maxicare that they will not cover my surgery. Today, oct. 20,2013. Almost one month maxicare failed to issue the certification we requested.
